Job Description
The Sr. Performance Engineer is responsible for managing daily Performance Test execution. The Sr. Performance Engineer manages 3 PT shift leads, to direct day to day test execution by the Performance Test team.
Responsibilities:
Accountable for day-to-day performance test (PT) execution
o Manage performance test execution team
o Prepare & lead formal review of PT results with appropriate stakeholders
o Approves overall plan and activities
o Work with other leads to define weekly and future workload forecast
Drive process improvements in the execution of performance test scenarios
Review all test scenarios to be executed and conduct scenario review meetings
Review all application release notes
Manage PT environment
o Communicate and coordinate efforts to implement any changes in the PT environment
o Ensure the proper usage and configuration of PT monitoring tools
Manage Issue resolution process
o Review and participate in prioritizing issues
o Work with the appropriate subject matter experts to drive resolution of issues
o Responsible for escalation of unresolved issues
o Participate in monitoring issue resolution
Ideal candidate will have 10+ years of IS/IT experience, including experience in Performance Testing. BS or equivalent in computer science or engineering.
Very strong interpersonal skills - including verbal and written communication, meeting management, conflict resolution, team building.
Strong problem solving skills: innovation, collaboration, risk/benefit analysis.
Demonstrated experience with multiple components of information technology infrastructure, including multiple operating systems, distributed systems, Web-centric architectures, various hardware components (servers, disk and tape subsystems), network infrastructure components, systems management tools and database management systems.
Ability to work with little or no supervision and minimal assistance.
Advanced degree or MBA
Operational experience with at least two of the following: UNIX, Oracle, Networking or Middleware.
BS or equivalent in computer science or engineering.
