Process Control Engineer
Position Summary:This position interfaces between operations, engineering and process control contractors and will support and/or lead process optimization projects, control improvements and their sustainability. The selected candidate will be responsible for the design, planning and execution of specific projects, typically process control related, within the manufacturing environment. This position requires judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria while devising new approaches to designs, process technology, and problems. Will be responsible for all aspects of multiple, simultaneous projects within a large range of size and complexity.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage changes and upgrades to the process control systems using the Manufacturing Automation Support (MAS) system.
Coordinate completion of MAS actions using internal and external resources.
Assuring reliability and overall functionality of all process control systems, e.g. ABB, PLCs, control networks.
Serve as process control and instrumentation Subject Matter Expert (SME) on capital project teams.
Participate in engineer/contractor meetings and resolve engineering/contractor and management project issues.
Ensure proper change management and successful return to operations at completion of projects.
o Using QSI for MoC.
o Using "Prestart-up Checklist" for RTO.
Manage project teams consisting of internal and external engineering resources.
As part of a project team, provide instrumentation specification and procurement support. Assure global standards are applied.
As part of a project team, provide process control (hardware and programming) specification and procurement support. Assure global standards are applied.
Define project scope, goals and deliverables in collaboration with management & stakeholders
Create, modify, and execute project work plans including budget, schedule, and milestones.
Coordinate with the IT group to assure commonality of hardware and compatibility of design.
Coordinate with manufacturing, quality and IT to develop and implement process data acquisition, storage, and compilation.
