Corporate growth has created an excellent leadership opportunity for an analytical Accountant with strong Technical Accounting experience. The position, while based in Providence, RI will be the senior technical accounting resource for the company and will report into the Director of SEC Reporting;

Duties include:

• Develop and maintain Accounting policies, including updating and educating corporate and subsidiary management and finance staff
• Prepare all disclosure checklists and ensure that published financial statements are compliant with the most recent SEC and FASB accounting guidance
• Proactively research and document the impact of new SEC regulations and accounting pronouncements on the Company’s financial statements
• Continuously monitor SEC, FASB and foreign accounting rules and regulations to ensure the Company stays current and in compliance
• Remain constantly up to date as to operating issues and changes in the Company’s business in order to proactively identify and address accounting questions, especially when such questions may not be apparent to group or subsidiary finance teams
• Assist with the preparation of SEC reports including: drafting MD&A, footnotes and other disclosures
• Provides guidance and support to subsidiary financial management on complex issues such as Acquisitions, Dispositions, Restructuring, Capital Leases, etc.
• Assists in the resolution of audit issues related to year-end audits, quarterly reviews, statutory financial statements of subsidiaries and other complex accounting matters
• Perform financial analysis and modeling

Job Requirements

Manager of Technical AccountingRequirements:

• Must have a current, active CPA with 5-7 years experience
• Public Accounting experience with large public manufacturing clients
• Strong technical knowledge of SEC and US GAAP rules and regulations
• Experience with financial reporting software (Hyperion, Longview, etc.)
• Strong Technical Writing Skills
• Advanced Excel
• SOX exposure
