Budget Analyst at Providence

Job Description

Responsibilities: Our client is seeking a Budget Analyst in Providence, RI.Responsibilities for this position include:

• Set up and utilize the budget system to prepare detailed budgets on an annual basis
• Work in conjunction with program directors of all departments in the organization to review their financial plans
• Prepare, develop, and analyze the implementation of a budget, taking into consideration the present and future financial needs of the organization
• Responsible for the accumulation of data to support financial analysis and budget development
• Monitor the budget throughout the year by reviewing the variance reports and general ledger transactions monthly to determine if funds have been spent as budgeted. Any deviations between the approved budget and actual performance must be presented in a written report to the Budget Director
• Prepare comprehensive reports and analysis as needed in decision making or to advise the Budget Director and/or CFO
• Provide statistical information as required
• Assist with preparing new budgets for grant or Request for Proposals (RFP)
• Perform additional diverse duties as required

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate for this position will possess:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance; Masters preferred
• Minimum of 3-5 years experience in budget planning, accounting, or business management preferably in a health care setting
• Must be a team player and effective communicator with all levels in the organization
• Strong verbal/written, analytical, and planning skills required along with a results-oriented nature
• Strong mathematical, data mining, and spreadsheet skills, specifically Microsoft Excel to perform financial modeling/analysis and budget projections
• Experience working with financial software programs
