Do you enjoy working with numbers in a business office?  In this Administrative/Technical Specialist NT-02 position with possible promotion potential to the NT-03, you will support the financial management and acquisition requirements for the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport programs.

As an Administrative/Technical Specialist your duties may include:


-Providing acquisition support of the department programs
-Performing financial analysis
-Budget planning
-Implementing administrative and business policies and processes

This vacancy announcement will be filled under the provisions of the Upward Mobility Program at Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport.  The Upward Mobility Program at Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport provides advancement opportunities for employees in lower level positions which will qualify them for entrance into a field with greater promotion potential.

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered.   Your resume is the key means we have for evaluating your skills, knowledge, and abilities, as they relate to this position. For this NT-02 position: Your resume must demonstrate at least three years of general experience that includes one year of experience equivalent to the NT-01 (GS-1 to 4 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrated the ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; plan and organize work; and communicate effectively orally and in writing.

OR education may be substituted for experience if successful completion of a four year course of study leading to a bachelors degree

OR combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.

REQUIREMENTS:

Generally, current Federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade.  All qualifications and time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement and clearly documented in your resume.
