- Review and prepare contract documents in accordance with corporate policy.
- Support and promote the primary objective of full adherence to all set contract terms and conditions.
- Analyze major and/or unique contract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and corporate policies and business unit procedure and communicates results to team members and business partners
- Interact with key support partners (i.e. Legal, Risk Management, Compliance) to ensure all current policies and procedures are reflected in contracting outputs.
- Assist with sourcing negotiations and serve as lead for the associated efforts as related to complex contractual issues.
- Examine new law, regulation and contract trends for potential impact on business unit goals and objectives.
- Provide authoritative guidance to internal business teams and contract team members on corporate goals and objectives relating to contract activity.
- Focal point for all communication with law, finance and business teams for resolution of contract issues and disputes.
- Assist in identification, development and implementation of new contract policy and processes.
- Have a general understanding of financial/analytical issues and profit and loss implications as related to contracts.
- 5+ years of related contracting experience with examples of achievements.
- Experience with Ariba will be a huge plus
- Bachelors Degree; Management, Business, Economics or Finance preferred.
- Masters Degree in a similar field of study is a plus.
- Knowledge in software applications: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience as a recurring user of the Ariba Contract Management platform is a plus.
- Demonstrable aptitude to review, edit and draft moderate to complex, non-routine contractual terms and conditions.
- Proven ability to supervise and train less experienced contract professionals and to identify and develop contract skills in assigned function.
- Working to excellent knowledge of industry corporate policies and procedures; coupled with an ability to identify required improvement to established policies and to communicate implementation procedures to impacted parties.
- Comprehension and ability to communicate application of contracting concepts, Uniform Commercial Code, applicable public contract law and regulations in order to act as a liaison between business, legal, risk and compliance resources.
- Provable contract negotiation skills with the capability to put forth examples of recent significant #R0.
- A very high proficiency in business communications both written and oral. Comfortable in presenting contract outcomes to senior business leadership when required Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM) preferred.
