Estimating Engineer

Job Classification: Contract

We are currently hiring for an Estimating Engineer to prepare and analyze moderately complex estimates of labor and material costs of manufacturing of custom engineered components based on request for proposal (RFP) data submitted by prospective customers.
Proposals include:
-specifications, sketches, blueprints, bills of materials, sample layouts and labor and material pricing schedules, to develop and submit a competitive proposal.
-Review, analyze and interpret customer bid package specifications to determine product requirements and build a cost/price estimate for the customer based on the supplied specifications.
-Perform required calculations and select compatible components, hardware and material types as necessary.

Qualifications:
-Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering or equivalent.
- Background in pipe supports or structural steel preferred.
- Experience in product estimating.
-Must be able to calculate structural steel sizes.
-Must be customer-oriented and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
