IS Project Manager - SDLC

Position Summary:• The Project Manager is responsible for planning, estimating, providing day-to-day management, leadership, direction, and administration across the full project lifecycle (planning through implementation) on medium to large size projects.
• Will work with Technology and Business teams as well as the relevant Functional Managers to ensure the project adheres to the project scope and to the CVS Caremark development standards.
• Must provide solutions that meet the business objectives and are within time/cost constraints, while maintaining high business and CVS levels of satisfaction.Job Description:The Project Manager will have 10 to 20 indirect reports, consisting of CVS and non-CVS employees, depending on the phase of a project. They are responsible for the delivery schedule, workload, and project deliverables for all indirect reports. This position is also responsible for providing timely feedback and written project reviews for each CVS indirect report. The CVS Project Manager position requires little supervision and is performed with some assistance from more senior managers.
• Creating, maintaining, and managing the project schedule (ensuring efficiency in planned tasks and resource assignments)
• Establishing, managing, and controlling project scope
• Delivering projects within the approved scope
• Delivering high quality project work that satisfy the project’s business case and meet end users expectations
• Acquiring resources from outside the organization and managing the vendor relationships associated with their services.
• Working with team leads, functional managers, and project support staff (Architects, DBA’s, etc.) to create, maintain, and manage the project schedule.
• Establishing, managing, and controlling project scope through a structured scope management process – represents.
• Project administration including forecasting setup and tracking, project financials, and time and expense reconciliation.
• Building strong teams – Planning for and acquiring team resource needs. Making the most effective use of people involved with the project. This entails day-to-day team management, team communication, identifying and leveraging strong skills while developing others.
• Project Communication – Ensuring timely and appropriate generation, collection, dissemination, and storage of project information. Preparing project status report and keeping upper management, business clients and others informed of project status and related issues.
• Will also provide guidance to less senior members on the team.Requirements:• Eight plus years of professional, related experience (consulting, software development, client management, team management), with a minimum of five years project lead experience.
• Project lead experience in software development and business planning across the full project lifecycle (planning, requirements definition, design, build, and deployment)
• Baseline discipline experience as a developer, technical/applications architect, or business analyst
• Experience managing a broad diversity of both business and technology oriented personnel
• Experience managing client relationships
• Strong planning and estimating skills for time and cost across all phases of the project lifecycle
• Experience using planning and estimation software such as Microsoft Project, Visio, etc with MS Office expertise.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with multiple teams, delegating work load, and ensuring team efficiency
• Must be able to identify, assess, and resolve complex business problems/issue/risks and facilitate issue resolution and risk mitigation.
• Ability to work with the business users, understand their needs, and translate those needs to the final project deliverables.
• Function as a leader throughout the project lifecycle
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• PMI Certification preferred.
• Pharmacy or Healthcare experience preferred
