ILS Engineer (Sr Systems Engineer II)
The Whole Life Engineering Directorate (WLED) is made up of several disciplines whose main objective is to influence hardware and systems early in their life cycle to assure effective operation, reliability, maintainability and economical ownership by the customer and end user, as well as implementing systems lifecycle maintenance and modernization plans.
Job Description: Candidate will be a member of the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Integrated Product Team (IPT) that provides Logistics and Provisioning support to the Aegis CSEA Program.
As an ILS team member, this individual will participate in logistics and provisioning tasks to support the Aegis CSEA program. Responsibilities to include:
* Support the ILS Team at Program and Engineering Design Reviews and give briefings as required
* Perform logistics analysis, ensuring the product meets customer requirements
* Maintain the Logistics Management Information (LMI) Database
* Prepare ILS deliverables, ensuring accuracy, quality, and on time performance to the customer.
* Provide technical expertise in ILS to proposal efforts for follow-on Aegis CSEA Program Phases
* Perform as ILS technical expert in hardware or software testing.
* Address ILS Team issues and questions that may arise
* Participate as ILS SME in joint activities with users, customers, and team members to refine long term supportability concept
* Provide subject matter expertise to the AEGIS program Logistics and Provisioning conferences
This position is contingent upon program award.
Basic Qualifications:
* 6+ years experience with the Aegis Weapon System, including experience in design, development, testing, and support elements.
* Minimum of a BS degree in Engineering or BS/BA in a related scientific/technical field.
* 2+ years Experience in Whole Life Engineering (Logistics and provisioning, reliability, maintainability, availability, technical document development, Training, and Sustainment)
* Experience in the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and managing an engineering budget.
* Proficient in office computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project)
* Demonstrated experience with Mil-Std-1388 and development/delivery related work products.
Desired Qualifications:
* Demonstrated ability to interact with engineering design teams in order to influence product design to meet life cycle goals.
* Experience in establishing statements of work and managing subcontractors
* Familiarity and experience working with PEO IWS 1 and the Aegis community
* Experience in logistics and training database development using the EAGLE ToolSet
* IDS EVMS Level 2 certified
* 2+ years experience providing fleet fielded systems support
* Demonstrated ability to operate independently and in a team environment
* Demonstrated ability to follow-through on commitments and reach closure on actions / issues
* Adaptable and able to work in a challenging environment
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, and ability to make clear and concise presentations to program, Engineering, and Customer personnel
* Demonstrated strong organizational skills
Ability to obtain a secret clearance.
