Global Brand Manager

Global Brand Manager FGX International Inc. is a leading designer and marketer of non-prescription reading glasses and sunglasses with a portfolio of established, highly recognized eyewear brands including Foster Grant, Sight Station, Magnivision, Gargoyles, Anarchy, Corinne McCormack and SolarShield. FGXI also holds licenses for brands such as Ironman, Body Glove, Disney, Dockers, Reebok, Nine West, NASCAR and Panama Jack. Based in Smithfield, Rhode Island, FGXI has approximately 500 full time employees. Additional offices are located in New York City; Ormond Beach, FL; San Luis Obispo, CA; Toronto; Milan; Stoke-on-Trent, England; Mexico City; and Shenzhen, China. FGX currently employs over 3,500 people in 7 countries and is experiencing rapid international expansion.

We are currently recruiting for a Global Brand Manager to join our Corporate Headquarters located in Smithfield, RI. This position reports to Marketing Director and has the following responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in developing brand vision, positioning and overall strategies to achieve overall business goals for the brand
  • Develop and implement initiatives that grow brands and improve equity within our channels of distribution
  • Work with the graphic design team to develop the visual brand identity to effectively communicate the brand promise that is relevant to our retail outlets
  • Manage external vendors to develop multimedia consumer advertising strategy and media plans, and implement and produce them after obtaining alignment from internal team
  • Conduct consumer research studies to gain consumer understanding and insights on our product categories, specific new product introductions, brand awareness and effectiveness of overall brand message/experience
  • Consider product development/launches from a consumer/customer-centric point of view, with a keen eye towards product performance and fit with the brand. Provide oversight to creative teams to develop effective in-store presentation and manage the projects from creation to completion.
  • Develop sales communications materials, tools and resources for all brands in his/her portfolio
  • Help direct overall brand Public Relations strategy, provide oversight to PR agency in support of corporate and brand communication, monitor PR activities and distribute materials to internal team.
  • Manage the evolvement of the digital and social media presence of the brands, including websites, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.
  • Interact with outside licensor partners to develop plans, obtain licensor approvals, prepare event sponsorship activities and promote the brand to our consumers
  • Coordinate activities for trade shows involving the brands in his/her portfolio
  • Prepare and present brand updates to internal and external customers
  • Manage marketing expense budget on a monthly basis
  • Develop and maintain competitive analysis and profiles of key competitors

 RequirementsGlobal Brand Manager REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 3-8 years of consumer marketing and general management experience
  • Demonstrated record of accomplishments in growing a business
  • Track record of developing strategies to enhance a consumer brands position in the marketplace
  • proven leadership skills and team orientation
  • Education: College degree in business field. Advanced degree a plus.
  • Travel: Position requires some travel as dictated by business needs.
