Responsibilities: This position will provide junior level project support on water/wastewater and food & beverage projects. Typical assignments include modifying control systems for process improvements, upgrades to controls and devices, and new system implementation. A Technical Specialist 1 (TS1) works under the direction of a Project Manager, Project Engineer or Technical Leader. The TS1 receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features and possible solutions to service issues and works with the Technical Leader to complete the assignment. The ideal candidate has experience in water/wastewater control or other process control systems.
Responsibilities include:
• Assist Project Managers and Technical Leaders in expediting work and maintaining a balanced workload.
• Keep up-to-date on standard programming practices.
• Knowledge of construction technical advancements or new methods by reading technical journals, attending short courses and seminars, and taking additional evening courses on a periodic basis.
• Knowledge of industry health and safety training.
• Knowledge and experience in public and private procurement of construction services.
• Knowledge and experience in blue print reading and ability to update drawings as required.
• Knowledge of computers and laptops, installing hardware and software, Operating system security.
Requirements• Associates degree in Electronics Technology or Electrical Engineering with 1-2 years’ experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Technology or Electrical Engineering with 0-1 years’ experience.
• PLC Programming, SCADA HMI software programming.
• Operator Interface Terminals (OIT) programming.
• Basic knowledge of hardwired relay logic and ability to troubleshoot circuits.
• Control Panel checkout and preliminary startup.
• Knowledge of Variable Speed Drives (VFD) and ability to setup parameters.
• Knowledge of Motor Control and Industrial Control devices.
• Knowledge of Instrumentation and configuration.
